Saturday was quite a busy day for me. It started early when Caitlin and myself left for Mathilda's Markets at Moore Park so I could help Corrie on her Retro Mummy stall. Spending time there is no hardship I can tell you, especially when I'm surrounded by such pretty fabrics.
While I was busy working, Caitlin took the opportunity to take a walk around the markets to look at all the beautiful wares for sale. She bought some pretty flower hair ties. I wish I could tell you the name of the place she got them from, but I can't remember what it was! I'm sure you'll agree it looks lovely on her...
After we had finished at Moore Park, we headed into the city to go to Sushi Train for lunch.
A trip to Sydney is just not complete without a trip there, their sushi is the best!
After that we caught the train out to Bondi Junction so I could go to Spotlight. I was quite restrained and only bought three metres of fabric. That's quite an achievement for me!
An hour or two later we headed back to the station and onto Kings Cross where we walked down to Woolloomooloo to visit with some family who were there for the weekend.
Now check these stairs out! They're called the Butler Stairs and they join Brougham Street to Victoria Street at Potts Point.
If you are ever in need of a good free work out then this is the place to go!
With my thighs burning we headed back and caught a train out to Chatswood so we could check out Daiso.
If you're not familiar with it, it's basically a Japanese version of a discount variety store. Lot's of different stuff and everything is $2.80. A great place to go if you want to organise your cupboards with cheap cute containers.
I managed to buy a few little things but my favourite thing I found there would definitely have to be this fabric tape...

What am I going to do with it I hear you ask? Ummm, I'm not sure yet but I'll definitely find a use for it one day, right?!
It's really nice to get away for the day and I'm so lucky that I have family that are willing to mind Jacob and Arabella for me while I do that. (Thanks Claire!)
It was a great day out with my teenager and I can tell you she pretty much fell into bed when we eventually arrived back home at around eleven that night!
I think I'll just leave you with this photo of Caitlin posing with a small item we discovered at Morning Glory. It amused us both not just because of what it is is, but because of how the box was labelled...

Looks like you and Caitlin had a great time. I've started planning my next trip to Sydney, I'll have to check out Daiso, it sounds very interesting. Jacob and Arabella were very well behaved, although I don't think Arabella stopped talking the whole time I was there...
